As entrepreneurs, we're hardwired to break the rules. We stepped out of our 9-5 world to build a business from the ground up with no guarantee of a paycheck or customers. So from the outside looking in, entrepreneurs can seem like unstoppable superheroes. But the truth is more complicated.
Starting and building a business is a monumental undertaking. The research, logistics, and planning all require massive investments of time, bandwidth, and money. After all that work, more challenges arise, and they tend to be even more difficult to overcome because they originate from within us.
In past blogs, we've explored a number of common struggles entrepreneurs face. For example, many of us have challenging personal relationships with money -- we've dealt with scarcity and we’ve been unsure of our financial decisions. We try to grow our businesses, but these limitations wind up holding us back. They're part of our old normal, and while they may be familiar, they’re not conducive to growth.
It's time to once again embrace being a pioneer. We are our most valuable resource, and we need to do everything in our power to ensure that we bring the best version of ourselves to work every day. Growing beyond our old limitations is scary. However, if we don't work on ourselves, we’ll burn out, and our businesses will suffer.
But, as previously stated, building a business takes a lot of time and energy. How do we actually work on ourselves while working on everything else?
Here's one suggestion: Schedule time in advance to explore your passion. Feed the creative, energetic version of yourself that founded and built your business. That version of you is needed each time you want to grow your business to the next level.
Invest in yourself, and your business will thrive. Not sure where to start? Let's set up a time to talk.
