As business owners and leaders, we are constantly making decisions.
Some of those decisions are the foundation of future plans. The start of an idea or venture that will eventually grow into something new. Many of our decisions, however, are knee-jerk reactions to questions or challenges that crop up every single day.
Needless to say, we tend to make far more decisions than most people. When we repeat this process of making decision after decision, day after day, it can get exhausting. That fatigue can, in turn, lead to establishing some unproductive habits. Namely, falling back on past experiences that may not be relevant to our current or future situations.
Experience is important and has value. But it’s equally important to make sure we’re using the current information to make decisions rather than reacting solely based on past events. After all, we’re building for the future.
What is your process for making decisions?
Like any process, it can be adapted and changed to get better results. It’s in our best interest to make sure we’re doing all we can to develop and improve our decision making skill set.
